We have a calligraphy workshop where you will learn the basic principles of both traditional and modern techniques. Experiment with a variety of handwritten lettering styles and take away a Manuscript starter kit so you can continue at home.
You’ll learn how to write with a nib and ink pen as well as a brush pen and develop your skills with plenty of support from tutor Caroline Coates. Tailored to beginners, you will receive step-by-step instructions to enable you to master individual letter formations.
The workshop price includes a Manuscript starter kit (as pictured) which you can take home including a pen holder, nibs and black calligraphy ink all presented in a handy storage tin. Calligraphy paper, practice sheets and examples will also be provided.
With our guidance and your practice, you’ll soon be writing like a scribe!
This workshop is suitable for complete beginners or for those looking to refresh their skills.
Based at Oppidan Social in the heart of the Northern Quarter, you’ll be able to enjoy complimentary coffee and cake or any of the other hot and cold refreshments on offer!
